How would you like to speak at one of our Meetings or Events?
Maybe you’ve been looking for an opportunity to spread those wings and try public speaking, or maybe you have insights and knowledge you want to share with others. The monthly meetings and events sponsored by the NM ISSA are a great way to do just that. Our monthly meetings are large enough to gauge your comfort with presenting, but small enough that attendees are empowered to engage with the speaker and be helpful when things don’t go perfectly. Larger events give you an opportunity to step up to a bigger stage and hone your professional speaking acumen and are an opportunity for professionals to address those larger audiences.
Regardless of the event size, speaking is a great way to enhance professional networking opportunities and interact with people you might not have otherwise met… had you just sat in the audience.
[NOTE: Speaking opportunities are not to be used for promoting specific products or services. Other than vendor sponsors (who may be in attendance), NM ISSA maintains a strict vendor-neutral stance.]

The Speaker Guide (MS Word Form, .docx) provides details on the general objectives of speaking engagements, as well as the expectations a speaker should have when agreeing to take on such an opportunity. The Proposal Application (last two pages of the document) is designed to ensure the presenter has a specific and well-developed topic prepared, and that all of the details for conducting the presentation are established.
Speaking proposals are vetted by the NM ISSA Board of Directors, and are assigned speaking dates based upon timing, availability, thematic alignment, and relevance to the NM ISSA membership. All proposals will receive a reply regarding acceptance or rejection, and the Board will do its best to supply useful feedback if the proposal must be rejected, or can only be accepted with conditions/alterations.
